Day THREE - Sunday 29th May
And so to day Three to the Irish Road Bowling Day @ Suderhastedt/Grobenrade. We needed to redeem ourselves after having two poor days and no Gold Medal. 1st off were the Under-age Girls. Rachel Kingston put in an awsome display of bowling to take the Road Gold with a score of 1407.9mt. Caoimhe Rafferty was 5th & Margaret Sexton 9th and a team Gold for the Girls' the Boys Under-age was topped with Darragh Dempsey taking gold with 2143 mt (if he were on the senior team he would have edged out James O'Donovan from Bronze position by 6.3mt) Tommy O'Sullivan was 7th, Conor Lucey 8th & Jamie Kelleher 11th with team Gold for the Boy's. No luck for our women on this road apart from kelly Mallon taking a bronze medal. Lindsay Leussink blazed a trail that was never going to be beaten. Hannah Sexton was 5th, Ciara Buckley 17th, Claire O'Sullivan 18th, Emma Fitzpatrick 22nd and a team Bronze. And so on to the men. Seamus Sexton was 4th out for the men and gave it his all and carded a finishing score of 2323.9mt, it was looking very beatable when Ralf Look blazed a super first 5 shots to the bend, but he fumbled his next 3 that cost him, James O'Donovan held on to take the Bronze Medal with 2136.7mt, Thomas Mackle was 7th, Micheal Bohane 12th, Martin Coppinger 13th, David Murphy 14th, Gary Daly 16th, Tim Young 17th, Aidan Murphy 26th & Eamy Bowen 34th with team Gold for the men.
