Brian Wilmot defeated Patrick Flood in an O’Connell/Dullea senior contest at Ballygurteen, with €4,050 a-side at stake. Flood led by 50 metres early on, but Wilmot overturned the deficit and raised a bowl of odds approaching the closing stages. Flood reduced the margin at the last bend, but Wilmot held on.

05 & 06 September ¦ West Cork celebrated All Ireland success in Aghagower as Eoin Hurley of Kilronan, Dunmanway, defeated Diarmuid Grimley to claim the Novice 1 crown.
